Flowers

Awwww, sometimes BJ is just so sweet. Today was one of those days. I kept sending BJ hints that I wanted flowers send to me on our anniversary. Well our anniversary is next week but I was having a semi bad day (which is happening more and more lately). So anyway, I got done with therapy and out on the front desk were these flowers. Once I got close I noticed they were for me. AWWWW he must have known how stressed I am getting with school this semester. SO yeah here are the flowers. I love the vase they came in, it is metal with a beautiful design. I also had to take them home with me because I just couldn't leave something there to sit and die in the clinic when no one is there to watch them die.

I'm Beat

Yeah so Wednesday shouldn't really take this much out of me, yet it does. I mean come on three classes, nothing to bad there, an hour off, then an hour of therapy then straight to work for 2.5 hours. That's it. It's not like my client is a 3 year old that I have to chase around the clinic, he is 25!!! We just sit there! So yeah. Now I am sitting on the couch about to fall asleep yet I can't because there is soooooo much homework that needs to be completed.

Oh I forgot to update you all. My little brother loves me, he even called me on Sunday. AWWWW.

And yes it is day two of Brett getting his license back. AHHH get off the road WATCH OUT!

Yeah that's about it, I'm tierd and can't go to bed. Blah.

Funny fact: When you run spell check on this blog site, Blog comes up as being spelled wrong. HELLO! Add the word to the dictionary.

Phobias

So the past two days I have had some thoughts/ incidences that got be thinking about how weird phobias are. Most people know that I am afraid of spiders but I am also afraid of needles. But have you ever thought about phobias? They are just weird, the whole anxious feeling and sweatiness, or nausiousness. I have a friend who has a phobia of hair, that is not attached to a body. But the question is, what do you do when you HAVE to confront your phobia? Like if you have to kill a bug and you don't like bugs. Do you do the ew gross dance? You know when you stand like 3 feet away with the tissue in your hand and do lunges to work your way up to killing it. You count to three then you squish it and throw the tissue on the ground while you hop around with your eyes closed and shaking your hands saying ew, ew, ew, ew. Then you stop and look at the tissue and decide you should probably step on it several times just to make sure it is dead. But with all the commotion you forget where the bug was exaclty in the tissue so you have to do inny-minny-miney-moe to decide what corner you should pick up that is furthest away from the bug. Then you have to run it as fast as you can to the garbage just in case it wasn't killed the first few times you stepped on it and all. Man that's a lot of work just to kill something so small. So, I ask again, What is your phobia and what do you do to get over it?

Taco, Taco, Taco

Ah yes, what else can motivate a graduate student more than food? Answer, NOTHING. Today we decided to have a taco bar! And yum, yum was that food good. Tania made a chocolate pound cake with raspberry glaze; Jen made something with brownies, frosting, peanut butter, chocolate, and rice krispies; and I just cooked 3 pounds of turkey. While cooking the taco meat I had some trouble (sorry Tania) it kind of flung all over because two pounds were still frozen. OOPS! But I cleaned it up, its all good. So after we got back to school we stuffed our faces then sat through a class that absolutely had no relevance to Tania or I. To keep ourselves busy Tania and I played the dot game, you know the one where you draw lines to make boxes and the one with the most boxes wins. Yeah well Tania kicked my butt and I had to do everything to keep from laughing to hard and draw attention that I wasn't paying attention.

I do have to say that I wish I could have taken a picture of Tania's cake. It was in the shape of a sand castle set on brown sugar for sand. It was really cute, and Katie it would be a perfect cake pan for you seeing as your engagement involved a sand castle.

AWW Homecoming

Saturday was Homecoming for Naperville North, my almamater. Brett looked sooo very handsome, besides that shaggy hair of his, and Jakie looked very beautiful also. Because BJ and I didn't have plans for the night we decided to go along with Mom to take pictures. While we were there BJ and I were talking and it feels soooo weird to think that eight years ago homecoming was our first date. I do have to say that it would be great fun to dress up and go dancing again, oh wait, it's now called weddings! After 3 homecomings, 4 turn abouts, 3 proms, and a handful of weddings BJ and I will finally marry! I can't wait. Here are some pictures of Brett. Okay maybe not, something is funky with the Blog site, and this is the only one that will post.

Gun Show (Friday)

I want home this weekend, and on the way I got hungry. I pulled off about 30 min. Outside of point. At the end of the highway ramp there was a hand written sign that said GUN SHOW -->. I just wish I would have had my camera because honestly who advertises for a gun show at the end of an off ramp and doesn't even have a professional sign made. It was just a little funny.

later that night BJ, his parents and I went to a show called BLAST. It was real cool. Basically it was a drum and bugle Corp without the football field. The drums were really, really cool. I don't even know how else to explain it except AWESOME.

Being adorable comes at a cost

Today I thought, "Hmm, I have this really cute skirt but I can never wear it because I have children as clients and can't crawl on the floor in them. So today with an adult, I will wear a skirt." However, in my conversation to myself I didn't discuss how my choice of shoes would affect my day. Well I looked really cute, but half way into the walk to school I knew I had made a bad decision. My feet hurt and I had only been in the shoes for 5 min. Great! Then, in the 2.5 blocks from my front door to the clinic there happens to be massive road construction, and the detour for pedestrians requires you to walk through the grass. Well the grass was just a bit damp for some odd reason, and pointy heals sink, so there I am sinking into the grass trying to get to school. Finally, I make it to school! The clinic was about 115 degrees and I sat for the next 5 hours sweating. Well we all know that when you sweat your body swells, so my feet are getting bigger and bigger. Now its noon and I have to run around the clinic with shoes that hurt my feet normally and with being warm the shoes are now to small. So I have a two hour client and by now I just want to cry because me feet hurt soooo bad. So by the time I finally find my way home I am just dieing from pain and have decided that those cute shoes with that cute skirt will stay in the closet until there is an event that will be cold and where there are a lot of seats for me to sit.

Slow yet Busy day

So Tuesday's are not my favorite day because I have a client at 9 am then nothing else until 4:15 pm. Talk about a long day of nothing. My problem usually comes from not being able to get studying done here at school because of my friends that want to talk and goof, yet I can't bring myself to walk the 2.5 blocks home and do home work there. I feel the need to remain here In case something important happens and they need me to resolve the issue. So I have spent my day in meetings with supervisors, writing SOAP notes (therapy reviews), talking with the clinic director, playing computer games, and checking my e-mail like I'm crazy (I don't actually expect people to e-mail me I just like looking at all my e-mails telling me what exactly I need to do.) So now it is about 4 and I am board out of my mind and unsure where my co-clinician is for therapy in 15 min. That's great and exciting! Well I'll talk to you later tonight hopefully I will actually have something fun and exciting to talk about, but don't get your hopes up.

Fractions

Alright, someone failed fractions!!!! So Jen and I, like different types of pizza so we decided to get these half and half frozen pizza. Well today, I opened up the half cheese and half supreme pizza and found this....
Does this look like half-and-half to anyone??? NOOOO it looks more like 1/8 and 7/8's. Well Don't anyone worry, I rearranged the toppings so I didn't have to eat anything yukkie. Later!

I'm Calling You Out!!

Alright, so I have a couple of siblings (three to be exact), and one of them recently left for college. Wahoo!! However, that individual has failed to respond to any of my communication attempts (wow, long day at school when I start using SLP language in my Blog). Now I have called him several times but due to football, and stuff he couldn't talk, that's fine. SOOOOO I then make the attempt to E-mail him, now I am a student and have been one for the past 6 years so I know how many times a day e-mail gets checked but seriously two weeks latter he still can't reply? What am I invisible???? I know school is busy and phone calls are hard to fit in but e-mail? That takes like 5 seconds. So lets pass this message along to my brother and tell him to talk with his sister, she misses him and wants to know how school is going. Thanks.

What a weekend

Okay, so I know it's been awhile since I blogged last, but I get so burned out during the last part of the week and the rest of the time I'm just on the go. So lets see, what is going on in my life? Well that answer is procrastination! Yes I do have to admit it, I have been pushing things until the end of the weekend. Now most of the stuff that I wanted to get done are not due in the near future, but still I wanted to get them done. So Friday, we went out to dinner and rented a movie, Saturday I slept until noon, woke up and stared at my textbooks until Tania encouraged me and Jen to accompany her to TARGET, where we spent at least 2 hours just wandering around the store. Then today Jen managed to convince me to go out for dinner/ice cream. Ahhh what great friends!!!! But no worries, all the homework is completed! On for a great week, hopefully it won't be nearly as exhausting as last week and I will get more blogging done!!! Hey last thing I want is to keep all of you in the dark on my life!!!

Love you!

Poor Elmo

Okay, really funny thing but I feel sorry for Elmo. I got home early from school today because I didn't have afternoon therapy. Well I didn't want to start reading right away so I turned on the TV while I was doing some cross stitch. If you are ever home at 2 in the afternoon you will know that the only thing on TV is soaps, and I'm really not into soaps all that much because they take to much time to just stay caught up. Well I don't know if I should say fortunately or unfortunately for me Martha Stewarts first show was also on today, so I watched it. It was actually fairly humorous, it was prison Poncho day and even her dogs were wearing poncho like the one she wore when she got out of prison. Okay so her Chow looked really cute in the poncho thing I do have to admit. But the funniest thing, was Elmo (from Sesame Street) was a guest on the show. Yeah well Martha's littlest dog thought Elmo was some sort of chew toy and kept trying to eat him. So to resolve the issue Martha had to hold the dog for a bit to keep it from attacking poor Elmo, and Elmo tried to play it off and give the dog kisses but every time he got close the dog tried to bite him and was growling. It was really funny, even though it wasn't supposed to be.

On another note, today was my first day of therapy and this kiddo is going to be a good and interesting challenge. All kids are cute and this kid is definitely no exception. Can't wait to meet my other client on Thursday.

Oh What a day

Its just a case of the Mondays, and by the way I hate the Mondays. It started out fine until 7:30, then I couldn't find my keys, forgot my lunch and my morning snack, got to school later than I wanted too and then had four hours of class. Yes, all this before 12. Way to much to deal with. Now I'm just sleepy and don't want to do anything. However, I'm sure all of you are wondering what I bought when I was shopping so I'll show you two f the great deals I found. The first one is what I got BJ for our anniversary (BJ close your eyes you can't see it, I'm just kidding, tell me if you like it.) Are you ready for the deal??? The origanal price $300, the price I paid including tax $62. Nice right. Okay now for deal two, I was so impressed with BJ's coat BJ said he would get me one too but it was only a weekend sale so I went back an bought myself one. So, for $124 I got $600 worth of coats.

That's all for me folks I'm off to bed.

Road Trip

Yesterday we decided to go on a road trip to Appleton, WI. We wanted to go shopping and that is where the best mall is, even though it is over an hour away from us. I woke up that morning and felt ambitious and made two CD's full of fun and upbeat music to keep us going for the trip. What I should have done was look up directions on how to get to the mall seeing as the last time either Jen or I had been there was over a year ago and we kind of got lost on the back roads of Wisconsin. So off we went after about an hour Nancy (who came with us) told us we probably should have taken an exit a couple miles ago. Okay, no problem we will just turn around right? Well I am used to Chicago highways where all the exits lead to streets, not other highways. So after making some scary exits and U-turns we finally are heading back in the right direction and make it to the mall only about an hour later than we should have. We then had a successful day shopping (I bought both BJ and my anniversary present because it was such a great deal I couldn't pass it up.) (PS BJ you owe me for your present because I am not buying my own present.) After shopping it is only natural to be hungry so off we went to dinner. Jen and Nancy were up for a new experience so we decided to eat at Hooters. As always the food was excellent and both Jen and Nancy were surprised at how "normal" of a restaurant it was. Then came the ride home. Yeah remember all those times when you were young and your mom told you to use the bathroom before you left, yeah that would have been a good idea. Well about 20 min. Into the drive both Nancy and I had to use the bathroom soooooooo bad that we thought we were going to cry. (Guess I shouldn't of had that second glass of iced tea.) Well when your in the middle of nowhere the is nowhere to go to the bathroom and you just have to hold it. When we got home it was a fight for the bathroom but no worries neither of us had accidents. Overall it was a fun and exciting trip that taught us to use the bathroom before we leave on long trips and get directions so those long trips aren't longer than they need to be.

Slumber parties!

I feel like a little kid again, except my mom never let me have sleep overs on school nights. One of our class mates is spending the night. Tarra is our friend who lives in Green Bay and drives everyday back and forth. Tonight however, she doesn't work her job so she is staying on our couch!!!!! So do you remember when we were little and you had friends stay the night. What did all you do at your sleep overs? I remember one summer every sleep over that my group of friends had we watched the movie "Camp Nowhere" that was a great movie. AHHHH memories!

FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!!

Fire = Fire
Hole = Oven

Yes we had a small issue last night while cooking dinner, Our French fries caught on fire!! OOPS. Jen and I are a little confused on how we managed to spill the French fries but we did and one of them got a little to hot! When I went to check on the fries and flip them over I noticed fire in the back of the oven and yes we set off the smoke detector. So its all good we know that the smoke detector works. The fries were just a bit funny tasting but nothing serious happened to the rest of them. After that exciting incident the rest of our night was boring and we went to bed early. Tonight we are excited its the session premier of the OC!!!! WAHOOOOOO!! We are really starting to get excited about good TV starting again because there is nothing to watch these days.

Demon Shower and Clinic

Oh how I missed our demon shower!!! Apparently it missed me too because it gave me super extra demon shower today. Jen and I have decided that the shower can tell when it is the worst time to drastic change temperature like when you are rinsing the shampoo out of your hair that's when it likes to go ice cold. And when your shaving your legs that's when it gets so hot were tempted to just jump out of the tub to keep our skin from burning off.

And Jen brought back some new rubber duckies for us. Its a trio of pirates. And for all of you into veggie tails you can refer to them as the pirates who don't do anything!!!

Today I also was informed that I get LOTS of power this semester and I get to run the Clinic Materials Center. So I do have to say "thanks Mom for making me such an organized, structure task freak, Because it is really impressing my supervisor." The clinic assignments were also handed out today and its a big bummer I have a co-clinician that I don't think I will be getting along with very well. Oh well it will be very interesting this semester that's for sure.

P.S. Dad~ I got my insurance cards today so I now have insurance.

You Are 0% Weird

You're totally, completely normal.
And that's pretty darn weird!

WAHOOO!!!

Shout out to Kimmy!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Kim I'm so happy for you yippy!

Other news back at school and this is a shout out to all the stupid signs in Wisconsin!

The best part about these two signs is that they are within like three miles of each other. This is the best part of my drive I laugh every time I see them.

Dumb Birds

Okay I know this has happened to everyone, Its two hours before you need to wake up, your comfortable in bed sound asleep. Then it happens. Your awaken by some annoying noise that just won't stop. For me it is birds that drive me crazy. Normally I can sleep through just about everything but those birds. And for all of you who know how much I like sleep I get very angry when I have to cut my sleep time short due to some unwanted chirping. So tell me what drives everyone else crazy in the morning? As for myself I just might try to take a nap and get that last few hours of sleep I missed.

Long time no post!

Sorry everyone. This week has been way high emotional week. I just want to say all those people in the south are in my heart and I hope things start getting better before they get any worse. In addition to the hurricane damage we here have been morning the loss of our friend which is tiering in itself. I was going to post a beautiful picture BJ made in memory of his friend but sometimes I don't think our computers are on the same wavelength and I can't open his pictures.

Well today we went shopping for our kids (teddy bears) to get them new outfits. BJ's bear needed an outfit because take your teddy bear to work day is coming up and BJ's did not have any clothes she could wear to work. (She only has her wedding dress) so we bought scrubs for Ocean (she wants to be a doctor when she grows up). My bear needed cloths because he is a polar bear and he is white so if he runs around naked then he gets dirty, and we need him white for the wedding so we bought him a cute little outfit too. The best part about Glaciers outfit is that 97 is the year BJ and I started dating and it resembles clothes BJ would wear. Our kids our cute and I'm the proud mom so here are their pictures. (Sorry one is blury it was taken from BJ's phone.
