A week of nothing

I made an executive discussion a couple weeks back. I decided that after I graduated I would take the week off and just enjoy myself. And that is exactly what I have done. Monday I slept in and started cleaning/packing my room, which is actually really hard because I'm not moving for a month. Monday night I went down to watch BJ play softball. Tuesday I spent the day at BJ's house and then watched another softball game for BJ and then one later in the evening for his brother. Wednesday mom and I went shopping for a mother of a bride dress for her. It wasn't as easy as you might have thought but we did finally find a dress that looked good on and wasn't a fortune. Thursday BJ, McGuire and I went couch shopping and we found one we really liked. And today is Friday and I am doing more of the room cleaning/packing.

Also though out of the course of the week I have finished two books "L is for Lawless" and "M is for Malice" and I have done a bunch of cross stitch.

Here Ye, Here Ye

**Trumpet Sound**
Just thought I would let you all know that I am now an official Speech Language Pathologist!!! Yes I did it. I got hooded, I climbed the steps, I walked across the stage, I shook some persons hand, and then walked down the stairs. I didn't fall and they said my name correctly. As far as school goes, I think I am done for a couple of years. Now it is time to grow up and get a job. The thought is a little frightening just because it is something new. It's not that I don't think I will be a good SLP but the fact that I am no longer a student. It took me 6 years to finally figure out how to do a good job at school now it will all change and I will have to be a professional.

Thanks for your attention, you can go on with your day.

Mythbusters

So I'm not really all that sleepy because I am sleeping in until about 9 or 10 every day so I feel the need to stay up until odd hours of the night just to spend at least a 60:40 ratio of being awake to sleep. So I need something to do to keep my attention long enough and I found MythBusters. For all of you who have not seen this show it is on Discovery Channel and they take urban legends and use scientific practices to prove or disprove the legends. Tonight I found out that talking on the phone, and taking a shower during a thunderstorm could get you killed (they proved this one), your toothbrush can collect fecal mater by being in the bathroom (so cover it up or put it in another room), and eight men in a rowing boat (like the one in the Olympics) can pull a water skier. One of the ones that they disproved was a man in the civil war was shot through the leg and the family jewels then the bullet hit a woman a couple hundred feet away in the abdomen and impregnated her. For anyone who enjoys seeing the research about statements, they would enjoy this show. So no more showers for me during a thunderstorm.

The Monster in the attic

Okay it was only Sonny but he still scared me this morning. Mom happened to forget to tell me that Sonny was going to be over to do something around the house today so I woke up to what I swore was a fox or raccoon in the wall. And I wasn't in that stage of sleep where I was half a wake and half asleep, no I was dead asleep. So when I did finally become conscience enough to realize what was going I was thinking, "Mom is going to flip when she finds out there are animals in the attic." But then the noise didn't stop so I decided to see if the house staining people were here and what do you know there was a latter outside of my window. That's when I realized the noises that woke me up probably weren't animals, but I still didn't know who put the latter there so I went downstairs and realized it was all Sonny. So that was the first 20 min. Of my morning.

Big OOPS

Well so let me tell you ablout the oops I had today. I was in Joliet out by BJ and brought his car to get a new pair of shoes (other wise known as tiers). After we were done I started to head home and got a phone call. It was my work calling to ask me where I was. I was a bit confused because I was sure I had today off, so I did not understand why they were wondering. Then they told me that I was currently thirty min. late for work. I wasn't even sure what happened next but I knew I was 60 min away and I still didn't have any scrubs. So I appologied profusely and sped toward home. I eventually got to work and worked the remainder of my shift. When it was time for me to go home I decided to check the schedule one more time. I figured out my error. I wrote down my Monday time in the Tuesday spot and then I guess I created new hours for me to work on Thursday but it sure would have been funny if I showed up to work and wasn't supposed to be there after a day I didn't show up to work because I didn't know I was supposed to be there.

Explanation of a Corn bag

Honestly if you ask me they are the coolest invention on the face of this planet. They are actually very simple to make once you have all the right stuff and understand how to use the sewing machine. So basically it is a bag of dried feed corn. That's it. But the use of a corn bag is what I enjoy. You throw it in the microwave for about 3 min and it stays hot like a heating pad for hours. Or you can put it in the freezer and use it for an ice pack again it stays cold for hours. Since it is corn it form fits to what ever body part you want it to and it is great for injuries.

That is what a corn bag is for all who didn't know.

Prom Weekend

While I was working massive hours this weekend other individuals between the ages of 16 and 18 were attending local proms. One such couple was Brett and his girl friend. I only was able to see pictures of this lovely event but man do those kids clean up nice. So here are a couple of pictures of them.

On another note, today was my first day off in seven and I enjoyed it completely. Just ask BJ, I was desperately needing this day off. Work gets stressful after a certain amount of time. Today I
1. Returned Brett's Tux
2. Bought a new pot for a plant I have
3. Made two corn bags
4. Fixed my spread sheet in excel workshop
5. Repotted my plant
6. Unloaded the dishwasher
7. And just chilled out.

tomorrow it is back to work I am so excited.

Getting Sick of work

I have a bit of a problem. I am driven by making money, and when you get paid hourly it means picking up more hours. Well I don't usually realize how many hours I pick up when I am doing it because all I am focused on is the money I will be making when I do the work. Now I figured out that I am working close to 80 hours in two weeks and I am working every single night for 7 days. So I am sort of working illegal because you should have one day in seven off of work. So in the next few days if you need me I will be at work. Call me to say Hi!!

Happy Birthday Sara!

Today is Sara's birthday. Last night a bunch of us went out for her birthday and we had a good time. I think Sara had the best time out of all of us but that is how it should be seeing as it was her birthday. Today, however, Sara and I were going to go out to lunch but I think her party took it all out of her. I hope the rest of her birthday goes great and is enjoyable.

Silly Animals

This morning I was at my Dad's house and the dog and I were sleeping in. I think Jasmin secretly knew that I was the only one not getting out of bed before 7 so she came into my room to stay out of the way of traffic. Well when my alarm finally went off Jasmine gave me a look as if to say, "Just five more minutes." So since she wanted to sleep more I reset the alarm for 30 more minutes and fell back asleep. However, when the alarm went off the second time Jasmin stood up, walked to the top of the bed and laid across the pillows placing her head on my shoulder. Every time I tried to look at her she covered my face in dog slobber. And she laid there on top of me for about 15 min before I finally figured out a way to sit up without injuring her. She just made me laugh because I have never seen here do something like that before. We should have named her Goofy instead of Jasmin.

100th episode

This is my 100th blog. Real amazing right?

Well first of all thanks to everyone who was worried about me but I'm back and still kicking.

So lets see what to blog about today... hmm... Oh I know!

Okay so before grad school I really did not have much of the craft bug in me. (It does cause a bit of a fever and stuff when you have it real bad). However, when I started hanging out with Jen a bit more I realilized I had the craft bug but it was just lieing dormit for a bit. So the bug came to the surface and started causing problems. First, I started a HUGE cross stich that I am now only about half way done but it has been pushed aside due to other obligations going on in my life at the moment. Then I Started the Veil of Death. Which might I add, the large part edge beading is complete now I just have to do the small part and little things but again, Not finished. Then I decided hmmmm, I know a handful of people who practicly attach me to get my corn bag, so I should make some of those to reduce scaring and bruising prior to the wedding. So I asked for directions on how much fabric to buy and how large squares should be for this thing but I never heard back about it. Well since the bug has been growing more confident I decided I could do it myself (just like a three year old). However, I have Never and I mean Never bough fabric before in my life, I have been there when other people have do it but this was a new experience for me. So Obviously I buy to much. Then I cut the pieces what I think is too small. So instead of having a corn bag I have bean bag size bags for corn. HMMMM again, if only I had those stupid directions. So when I am trying to sew the bags together the sewing machine and I start to fight. (Speaking of, mom I need some help with the Sewing machine). SO right now I have 6 corn bags cut but not put together because of the machine being difficult. Any other craft project I can start and not complete? I would love to know!
