More upsetting and sad news

This morning we were told that a close family friend to the Okel's died in a car accident. As of this time right now we are unsure of the details but BJ and his mom are very upset. This man lived next door to the Okel family for five years and Bill and Mary treated him and his wife as their children. He leaves behind his wife, one year old daughter and unborn baby. Please keep his family in your prayers they need as much support as they can get right now.

On to Sunday!

Well Sunday would have been great fun if I wouldn't of woken up with my allergies trying to kill me but hey what can you do. I honestly think that I was allergic to the hotel room or something but my eyes were on fire, my nose was clogged my ears and throat were itching along with being completely raw. I felt like a million bucks. Well we checked out of the hotel and went to cheer on the BJ's brothers softball team (the one he could have played on but was the good guy and decided to let the other team go to state cuz there were guys that wanted to go but then never showed up to play). Then we went out to lunch and I challenged BJ to a miniature golf tournament at a place I drive by every time I go home or to school.

Yeah well my plan of beating BJ back fired on me because BJ had a flawless game of mini golf I had ever seen (besides the volcano swallowing his ball cuz he hit it too hard). I ended up losing but he bought me ice cream while he went to goof around in the batting cages. He HAD to see if he "could still hit an 85 mph fast ball." He did, and he hit several of them. He is cute sometimes just like a little kid, but man he enjoys life a whole lot.

Then my worst fears were reviled. I am almost to small to do what normal adults can do. If I shrink any I will not be able to drive the go carts. Honestly HOW SAD IS THAT???

Oops! I forgot about Saturday

Well now were on to Saturday. Well we woke up way early to get a good start on the day and plus BJ's first game was at 8 so we had to be up and at the field by then anyway. Well let me just tell you how incredibly lost we were on our way to the softball fields. There were three cars all following each other assuming that the lead car knew where we were going. BAD ASSUMPTION!!! Yeah we did so many U-turns I'm surprised nobody threw up from dizziness. Now the majority of you know the happy go lucky BJ, but very few of you know the pissy BJ. Let me just tell you at 7:15 in the morning late for a softball game BJ gets a little cranky. So we finally get to the fields with about 10 till 8, and of course we park the furthest distance from the fields. Now if not one cranky softball player wasn't enough we now have 5 cranky softball players all speed walking to the fields. Well it just went from bad to worse because once we were at the fields the team realized that there were only seven men present out of the 13 who said they were going and 9 needed to field a team. Oh man, just back away slowly is the only advice I can give in a situation like that. So yes the team had to forfeit their first game due to lack of men. Well due to the loss we had to go to a different set of fields to play the next game, and had 4 hours to get enough men so they could at least play. Some how they recruited two guys from a skate park to play and had one guy come up with his kids from an hour and a half away. Things were looking better, that is until they lost by sloder rule in the fifth inning eliminating them from the tournament. The real kick in the pants for poor BJ was that the other team BJ could have gone to state with placed 7th. BJ was bummed to say the least.

PS I have no idea who these people are I just thought it showed the way BJ felt by the end of the softball tournament.

The rest of Friday and Saturday

Alright, so since a ton of stuff has happened since the last post I am making several posts just cuz. I will go day by day Starting with the rest of Friday and all of Saturday.

Okay so we left of in the story of my life with BJ and I heading out to the Gem and Jewlery show out near the airport to buy a center stone for my ring. THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME!!!! I have never seen so much jewelry in one place before. Plus you know how when you watch TV and you see the stars where these massive pieces of jewelry and your like, oh yeah right like places really sell that stuff. Yeah well I saw some fabulous pieces that had to cost over a million bucks. On the up side though I did find a beautiful lab created alixandrite for my ring. The thing about alexandrit stone is that it chances color depending on the type of light that it is exposed to. I will take a picture of it as soon as BJ is done setting it but I don't know how it will turn out or if I can get it in different colors. Plus the deal that we got for this stone was outstanding which makes us even more excited. I posted a picture of some alexandrit stones if you look hard you can see the purple, teal, green and pinks that show up in most stones. My stone stays mostly purple and black, however, when it is black in has the most beautiful colored accents to it, it takes your breath away.

From the show we headed up to Rockford, ILL. and had a gross and disgusting hotel experience. I would tell you more but it gives me the heby gebies every time I think about it so I won't. I will just recommend that if you ever go to Rockford stay away from the travelodge on State St.

Kelly the Snake

HELP ME!!!!! My face is shedding its skin! So last weekend when I burnt myself on the boat my face got the worst of it. Now tell me what is more disgusting than having your entire face peel. I feel like where ever I am, I am leaving parts of me behind. I also have to say that I am glad I do not work in the food service industry because I would have to call in sick due to the inability to work. All in all I have learned the importance of sunscreen.

Well BJ and I are off for a fun and exciting weekend in Rockford, IL for the state softball tournament. I hope BJ doesn't hurt himself and I hope I don't get too board. Before we go we are stopping at the gem and jewelry show to poke around to see if BJ sees any good deals.

Oh yeah I Forgot

Well I forgot to tell all of you about the exciting conclusion to BJ's thief. Okay so apparently on Monday the owner of the jewelry store called the lady and told her that if she brought everything back she would not press charges. However, if she didn't bring anything back then charges would be filed against both her and her teenage daughter. Well the lady broke down and confessed and brought everything back. And man, she took more than everyone originally thought so its a good thing she brought it all back. The owner stayed true to her word and didn't press charges, but the lady was pretty experienced at what she was doing and probably needs charges brought against her before she will stop stealing. The biggest kick out of the whole thing, the majority of the items that were taken were crosses. WHO DOES THAT!!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well since last time I wrote it seems like I have been constantly on the go. Saturday night BJ, my dad, Kelly and I all went to a comedy club in Joliet. Then Sunday Mom, Sonny, BJ and I went up the chain of lakes with the boat and spent some time around there. That was a fun time, I got to see an Ice Cream Float, and a Hot dog floating house. We ate at both so now I can say I have eaten hot dogs and ice cream from floating food stands. BJ was even daring enough to go tubing but I decided the water was too choppy so I just watched in the boat. I, however, burnt my face and chest so bad it hurts to smile or make any facial expressions for that matter.

Then last night was BJ's last Monday night softball game. They lost but BJ had some good plays. BJ's niece and nephews were really cute last night too.

Well tonight is my dreaded shift from 1-11 with the possibility of going to 12. I can't wait to see what kind of crazy people I will get to register today. I only have 3 more days of work and less than two weeks before I have to go back to school.

I'm Board!

Finally a day off! No work and no obligations to do anything, however, I'm board! I am trying to make plans for the evening but things are just more difficult than they really should be. For example, I want to make reservations at a comedy club, but they are not answering the phone so I don't know if they are booked for the evening or not. Frustrating!

Last night BJ and I went to see Wedding Crashers. We both really enjoyed it. In fact, BJ has already put it on his "I am definitely going to get that one when it comes out on DVD" list.

This is a Good Job BJ shout out. BJ is fighting crime in his jewelry store and is helping catch a thief who was their on Wed. Apparently, (all my information comes from the star himself) on Wednesday a lady came into the store and was acting very suspicious. She hung around looking at different items for over an hour and BJ thought this was very weird. He wrote down her license plate number just in case and she left. Well today he gets a call from the owner questioning him about missing items in some of the cases. He tells her about the weird lady and they go to review the tapes. The tapes show her actually taking items out of the cases and leaving with them. Well BJ's smart thinking with the license plates helps them trace this lady down. I just hope they catch the lady! Nice job BJ!

Oh and one year ago today BJ and I got engaged! Wow that year went fast.

Potting Plants

Okay, so my mom has these two plants that she wanted to get new pot for because the ones we have are old and kinda boring. So about 2 and a half years ago my brother bought her these new pots that she wanted. Well for the past two and a half years these pots have been sitting next to the sewing machine in the laundry room just begging to be put on display. SOOOO me being the good daughter I am decided to transfer the plants myself. Well apparently mom also wants to split the plants which I thought no problem. Well after being covered head to toe in dirt or Potting Soil I finally get the two plants into four separate pots however, they no longer stand up strait. The poor plants have to sit in corners just so it looks like they are growing up and not out. I really hope I didn't just kill the plants we had in our house for years and years and years. Good luck to them in their new homes.

Shout out to the Wisconsin Speechies

ROAR??? and oh yeah roar. The first one is rising intonation and the second is a quite mouse like roar. You all know how it goes. And oh yeah don't forget the hand movements. Well I just finished buying books for our LAST semester, the damage came to 163.27 not bad, I was expecting worse. So Jen you might have to sign for some things sometime soon.

Well on a different note today while I was working I registered a six year old boy that was acting like he was 1. He had a pacifier and was whimpering like an infant. His mom even cradled him like a baby! Now I don't like being judgmental of how other people raise their kids but come on, the pacifier is so not good for oral motor development and the way his mom was treating him is going to hurt his psychological development. (Long deep sigh)

Well I am glad to hear that Katie is still going ahead with the wedding it is just to bad they have to do it without her mom and have to wait till December to enjoy their honeymoon. Well her whole family is still in my prayers during this time, I hope everything can still be enjoyed.

Roar!

Softball

Okay so yesterday I was playing the good girlfriend/fiance card and went to watch BJ play softball. Now this year BJ has decided to play on two softball teams. Well in all previous years when BJ has played on only one team he manages to injure himself and whine and complain about it for the rest of the season. (I love you BJ don't get mad at me) Therefore, we made a deal that if he gets hurt playing softball he would stop for the rest of the season and recover. So anyway this year he has played the whole summer and managed to not get hurt it's amazing. However, there was last night. I watched him take more face dives into the grass and trip over bases then I have ever seen. It was like his whole coordination for softball was lost cuz I was there. Well after several bruises and grass stains the game was over and he refused to be injured. Even though he had a bruise on his wrist that looked like it hurt he was a good boy and didn't complain about it. Awww he is so tough!!!

Chicago!

Well yesterday, bum foot and all, BJ, his parents and I all went down to the great city of Chicago for a lunch cruise. It was so much fun. It was just a bit rainy but the food and the view were just amazing. I posted some pictures from the boat ride. Oh and since I am so horribly frightened of spiders one decided to join us on the boat, yep that one in the picture. I have to honestly say that was the largest spider I have ever seen and he kept climbing all over the window. For about 15 min. I could only look to my right so I couldn't see this massive thing wanting to eat me. It then started to rain so I think he drowned and I was safe from the spider. After the cruise we went down to the shopping area and I bought a few more Christmas presents and I found a cute looking leprechaun that I took home. I love Chicago it has everything you are looking for. Later that night BJ and I decided to go and see Charlie and The chocolate Factory. WEIRD but really good. Oh there is also a new movie coming out which I have forgotten the name but its about cows and farm animals and I almost peed my pants during the preview so WE are so going to that movie!!!!

well in the words of the Seven Dwarfs "Its off to work I go (whistle, whisle, whistle.) It will be a few days before I post again, I have work, and a wedding tomorrow, then church and work on Sunday. LATER

Some sad news

I just found out that one of the girls I am going to school with her mother just passed away unexpectedly in a car accident. What makes this even more upsetting is she is supposed to be getting married in about two weeks. My prays are with her in this difficult time.

Bat Dog and My Foot

Well for the next few weeks it looks like I will be posting in the morning or the afternoon because I seem to get busy at night or I'm just plan to tired to deal with the computer.

Yesterday we went to the Kane County Cougars game (a farm team for baseball). BJ and I had a ton of fun and it was Jake the bat dog day. He was really cute. Every so often he would run out on the field and collect the bat left behind by the latest hitter. He also brought a basket of water out to the umpire's during every inning so they wouldn't die from the heat. All in all it was a fun day until it came time to leave.

As BJ and I were heading out I wasn't paying attention and neither was this other guy and we ran into each other at full speed. At first I felt bad because the impact made him drop his newly acquired beer but then I noticed that he broke all my toe nails on my right foot along with braking my pinky toe. Now the only reason I know what a broken toe feels like is because my little bother several years ago chased me into a wall breaking my little toe on my left foot. So now I have a pretty purple toe wrapped in tape for the next six weeks or until I can walk normally again. Wearing heals the next few weeks should certainly be interesting especially with this wedding coming up on Saturday.

What to wear?

Okay, so how many times have you sat around thinking what should I wear? There is such a fine line between being over dressed and being underdressed. But how do you know where that line is when your sitting at home trying to figure out what to wear. Well I have figured out a soluition, wear what you want! But bring at least two other outfits in case your definition of "casual" was not the same understanding as everyone elses definition of casual. This way it saves you the embarisment of sticking out the entire evening.

Scary house plants

Okay so my roommate apparently told the lady across the hall that we would watch her plants for two weeks. That's cool, we have plants that we haven't killed. We water them every few days or so when ever the soil gets dry. So My roomy left and the plants came over to stay. OH MY GOODNESS!! They are the ugliest, scariest plants I have ever seen! And Im almost certain one is a weed! I posted them let me know what you think. Honestly I think house plants should look nice and sweet and warm.

Oh and I fixed my comment page. Now everyone can leave a comment.

Happy Negative One Year

Well let the countdown begin. Exactly one year form today (365 days) I will be getting married!! Hope you all can come, it will be a blast!

Ewww Gross

Today was my last day of classes for the summer!! Wahooo! However, I still need to get in a couple more hours of my assistantship before I go home. I can use those hours doing a couple of things working for the meanest lady in the world, or cleaning parts of the clinic that haven't been touched in years. Hmmm, I think I'll take the cleaning. Man I have never seen dust so think in my entire life! After a lot of sneezing and paper towels I am only left with one hour to complete! That will be spent cleaning toys tomorrow.

So After a long day of cleaning at school I came home to my apartment which hasn't been cleaned in probably about 3 months because of school and all. Man this place was a mess!!!! I spent an hour and a half doing dishes and cleaning the kitchen. Well this place is almost clean, I hope my roomy likes the way it looks and smells when she gets back.

OH yeah and I learned that when you are washing a floor don't walk across it with bare feet. You have no idea how many times I had to wash the same spot because I had to keep going back into a room for something.

The first of many (I Hope)

Okay so both my cousin and some of my friends have started this blog thing so I thought what the heck. Since I'm stuck up away from everyone this seems like a good way to keep everyone else up to speed with what is happening in my life. Hopefully I can stick with this and not forget about it.

Well first of all I am writing this the night before my last day of classes for the term and the last presentation that I will give. Then its back home for a busy and short month before I get to come back up here.

Well to day I had my first real life fair experience. Yes, growing up in the Chicago suburbs fairs aren't that common. We have them but we usually don't go to them. This fair was ridiculously expensive. It cost us $9.00 per person plus another $6.00 to park the car. For that much money we were expecting something good! But nooooo just rides, food, and animals. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with the fair. I had fun looking at the animals but maybe next year I will go to a larger fair with cooler stuff at it and I'll be impressed.
