New to blogging?? Words of advice.

More and more people are getting into blogging.  The world is going to paperless everything and that is including journal writing.  Me personally, would never keep a journal, never really wanted to, but some of my best cousins always did.  Therefore, when I saw they started a blog it wasn't that surprising.  These blogs/journals are away to look back on your life and remember where you were certain days of your life.  For me I have such bad ADD the things that jump through my head I enjoy looking back on them and laughing.

As blogging grows so do ways to access blogs.  I read more and more blogs, some who blog daily some weekly, some monthly and some when ever I tend to forget which ones I like and which ones I don't.  I have begun using the infamous GOOGLE READER!!!  It's great, as your blog authors publish they let you know which ones have new blogs, you want to know what else is great?  If someone deletes a post they wrote, it stays in google reader.

Moral of the story think long and hard about what you write on your blog.  If this really is the "journal of the future" keep in mind there is even less security than the one you kept under your pillow with the two cent lock on the front.  So instead of just worrying about your brother or sister reading your deepest darkest secret, wants, and desires don't go posting it one the World Wide Web.  There is no permanent delete.  Plus it makes face to face time real awkward.

In my head

Sometimes as I am by myself I write a blog post in my head. It could be about anything. Then by the time I get back to the computer I have completely forgotten how the blog goes. It's not that I have forgotten what the blog was about, which happens often, but the good content I forget and it just doesn't sound the same when I start typing. Like last night, I wrote a wonderful post in my head as I was falling asleep. It was all about how happy I am with my life right now and how I never could have pictured where I am with my life years ago. You will just have to take my word for it because as I sit here thinking about re-writing it, I feel it wouldn't do the blog justice if it didn't sound just as it did in my head last night.

More or less it came down to this... I love my family, I'm proud of my siblings, I have been exceptionally blessed with my husband and my child, and every now and again I can really love my dog. But I think I fell asleep before I got to the dog part in my head. I just thought I should add that in in case she ever read this post.

When I Grow up

Alright everyone in the "I don't want to comment on your blog" club. Now I know there are a few of you that comment every now and then, but the rest of you...I made it easy to comment. I added some "boxes" to the bottom of the post so all you have to do is check one that you think goes best with your feelings after you read the blog. Now if you are feeling daring you can also comment and elaborate on you explanations of your check or add another possible box down at the bottom.

On another random note, we started a new office manager today and I think I am about to pull my hair out dealing with the mess. Now Some of you may know that I worked in registration during college and as mundane and tedious as it all was, I think I would love to run an office. However, the more I see of our front office, I have decided I wouldn't want to run the front area of any medical place. Sick people or people in need of a service that they actually don't have to pay for are not the most reliable or nice people in the world. Or maybe it is actually all the extra paperwork that has to do with insurance companies. Now that is a good reason to not want to work somewhere. There will always be crabby people. But anyway. I would love to be in charge of an office, making appointments, telling people who make 5x more than me what they should do and when they should do it. I enjoy that.

100th post of the year!!

First Time since beginning to blog have I hit 100 blogs in a single year. Soon I will also hit a record # 300 blogs for the sight!

Elijah's Birthday party

Things didn't start out the way it was all planned. BJ called me on Thursday and told me that he needed to work at some time this weekend. I went into major panic mode thinking that BJ wouldn't be able to go to Elijah's first birthday party. BJ worked things out to the best scenario possible. That being he would work his 8-4:30 shift on Friday, come home eat, sleep from 8-about 11 get ready to go back to work, work from 12-7 come, home, shower, sleep from 8:30-10, wake up, help me get ready for the party, have the party, sleep, go on with the day. Therefore, I was needing to get everything ready by myself. Thank goodness my co-worker from Rainbow came over to help Friday night. She wrapped all Elijah's gifts and cut up all the fruit for the party. We had all of our family here for the party and it was wonderful. Elijah started to get a bit done with it all after awhile, however, he wasn't feeling the best. He really wasn't about the cake, but that was the first time he really had that much sugar at one time.

It was a great day, maybe next year BJ won't be so sleepy.

FINALLY

First of all...made some changes to the blog can you tell??? Do you like?

Second of all...So flipping glad the Blackhawks won last night. For many reasons. Mainly because, a sport that mainly involves ICE should not last longer than the Ice caps themselves. Second, I enjoy the fact that now IN MID JUNE we can finally start enjoying baseball (mind you my team isn't doing so well) but either way. And now that they FINALLY won the Stanly Cup I can now talk about it. It was getting a bit "inconvenient" for our family. I mean really, we have to be in by 7:00 to watch the puck drop every 2-3 days. However, it was nice to have nap time between periods one and three. Plus now that this is all done, I can finally list my car and get it sold. Just because we have to be more open to sell it. Yippy!

Tell me the truth though, do you like this layout/background or should I go back the other way? I don't know

Laughing

Thanks to my mother, I have found a new blog that I love. Anyone in the medical field needs to check this one out. One of the older posts really has nothing to do with being a doctor but about a new shower cleaner that I too have recently installed in my shower. Now props to the shower cleaner, I love it. In fact, we bought one for our neighbor so she doesn't die cleaning the inside of her shower. And FYI, The Dr. blog is something I have thought about doing with some of the kids I have worked with.

Problem with movie deal

I get distracted A LOT. When I get distracted I think of many, many, many different things. Since posting last night I have been thinking about my made for TV movie. I have realized a flaw...I don't have guts to complain about things at work or people that may be annoying me that particular day or week, or month. Now don't get me wrong, most of the things that happen to me I am not really annoyed by. But there are times. I can always post about crazy dog, and some crazy kids but other than that, I need to be careful not to make people mad at me. However, sometimes I think the dog might be able to read cuz she acts weird sometimes. Oh well, so life will go on, and if my life story ever gets made into a movie, depending on the $$ that they offer me, their might be a bunch "additions" to my blog. Don't worry though if you never make me mad then you won't have to be worried about looking bad on TV. HA... maybe the people I don't like will be played by people who can't act. HA... So far people that have claimed actors: My mom wants Meg Ryan or ?? I forgot, one of my co-workers wants Julia Roberts. I am still pushing BJ to pick someone.

Wish me luck. Tomorrow I will be off to Mazda with my Father to push for reimbursement on my car. Yes, I'm taking my dad because BJ will be at work and I really didn't think the Suits at Mazda would take a 5'1'' girl who looks like she is 12 carrying a baby that is half her size seriously. So Elijah will stay with Grandma and my dad, my automotive pinata bag, and I will go for a ride to Mazda. In a perfect, and completely unrealistic world, Mazda would look at everything and say, "We are sorry for your inconvenience, here's a new car." Um, Okay! We will see what goes down. There is going to be a rumble!

Time to wake up my hubby so he can go to bed.

Once upon a time..

First of all I will fill you in about the car then get to something happier.

Cost of tow to car place: Free thanks to AAA

Cost of Rental car for 1.5 days while car is being fixed: $70.00 after 5% discount from AAA (hopefully we will be reimbursed for this from our insurace company)

Cost of missing 2 hours of work: 0 dollars-all my kids reschedualed

Cost of a broken spring in your drive belt that won't let your car run: $1022.86 **OUCH** Trust me Mazda will be hearing from me and I will be working in all my free time to get as much of it reimbursed as possible.
HAPPIER NOTE begins now-->
Since my mom opened my eyes to the number of blogs out on the Internet and the number of people reading other peoples blogs I have begun thinking...

Now that I know people will read my blog they get a window into my world. Some times, things that happen in real life are better than things someone can create (i.e. my dog). If you get a real interesting life and the right person reading your blog you could get a movie deal out of it. I mean come on, look at some of the movies that have made it big recently. The Blindside: true story on the life of an ordinary man who had an extra ordinary event in his life. Example number 2: Marley and Me: a true story about the life of a dog and how it impacted a family. Example number 3: My Big Fat Greek Wedding: alright I know this one was a little over the top and exaggerated but still taken from life experiences.
Therefore in the future, I see movie/TV producers looking to the blogs of everyday people to make the next big movie or TV show. I mean how cool would it be if one day your just sitting in your living room, writing the day's events on the computer to share with the world, and save your life on the Internet for the rest of history, and the next you are answering the phone to a producer wanting to buy the rights to your life. For that matter everyone I mention in my blog needs to start thinking about what famous person you want to play you in my made for TV movie. Let me know in case I get the call tomorrow.

I would like Sandra Bullock to play me. I think she is clumsy, and she acts the way my brain works.

Oh and by the way this would be awesome!!

Baby Socks

I was going to post on sleepy Sundays but I forgot my camera with the DJ stuff that was sent back to my In-laws about 45 minutes before I remembered it was there. So instead baby socks it is.

Okay I would like to talk with the individual who thought that socks should be made in baby sizes. I am sure that who ever decided to make these darn things never had a baby because if they did they would actually work. Here are my complaints about the little socks. First, they hardly ever stay on. Now with the changing weather I fear for my child's toes to get so cold they just up and fall off so I put on little socks. I then spend the next 5 hours readjusting them pulling them back up until I finally get fed up and yank them off. Second, if they do stay on they are so darn tight that the chubby little legs/feet of the baby have sock imprints on them. Elijah's feet in socks look like my feet when I was pregnant. Sausages in fabric. And third, If they do stay on, every time you have to change a diaper, they are just one more thing you have to remove. If you don't remove the socks then your baby is bound to dip one or both of his feet in the poopy diaper that he just created for you.

My solution, all baby pants should be make with little booties attached just like the all the pajamas. That way the toes stay warm and you don't spend your whole day fixing the socks. Tada.

On another note, I started to go back and put labels on all of my posts and reading all the old posts. It's my mind and I really don't how it works. Some of them are funny if you pick a label and read several of the posts you might get a kick out of them.

I Suck Do you still read?

I know I suck a lot. What can I say. I havn't updated my blog in about um a million years. Sorry. Do you want to hear excusses? Well since you are reanding my blog you will have to read the excusess cuz that is what I am writing about. Okay so first of all, I stopped living off of my computer. Once I graduated I found that the amount of free time I once had left me and gave me adult responsibilities like cleaning, cooking and working. With all of these at hand when I get home frm work I just want to eat and sleep. Okay, the the other reason, my O button does not work out so well so unless I hit the button a million times i get no "O". In ther wrds this is what it wuld lk like with out the "" buttn wrking prperly. Sorta sucks doesn't it.

I pleg to try and do better with my bloging in the next couple of months.

Question for Google

So who gets to create the logos for Google? I think that would be a fun job, graphic designer for google. All day you would sit around and research different world events then change the google logo to match or support that aspect. I wonder if that is a full time job or if different people can submit there entries to be reviewed. So if you could design a google logo what would it be for? I think mine would be some time in May for Better Speech and Hearing month. (the one up is for leap year).

I went Ice Skating

This weekend BJ and I went ice skating at the local rink, and I didn't even fall!! We must have been in the Olympic spirit because on Friday we watched the opening ceremonies. I have been busy the last few weeks as you can tell by my lack of blogging. I have been jumping around and I don't always like to bring my computer everywhere I go. I also have been busting my butt studying which I know is kinda a boring life but I really don't want to take this test over again so I'll be a nerd for a month then stop. I have really been getting into my job but I would be having so much more fun if I was getting paid. Even just a little bit. So yeah that's my life lately. Sorry no witty comments about life. The witty things come when I blog more often.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

WOW

I know I'm falling behind on my bloging. So I'm sorry for all of my regular blog readers. I feel bad because I am jumping back and forth between houses and real busy with my internship, work and the wedding stuff. I feel like lately when I'm at work I am going an million miles a minute playing and planning for the kids. Then when I get home at night I either complete the paper work I put off during the day or spend hours doing crazy wedding planning stuff. All this and I haven't even started the Capstone project that is required for graduation. AHHH I will be very happy between April 24th and May 21. I will do nothing during that time I think. Just sleep in late and maybe if everything works out well get settled into a new house/apartment. There is just so much to do and so little time. Guess that's life.

Out of order for a bit

This week is way stressful. Between the two papers, three reports, two Diagnostics, progress notes, test, and a few other mini assignments I do not think I will post much for this week. So you all might want to take the week off in checking up on Kelly's life.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Brian! Since today is your birthday this one goes out to you. Hope you have a good and happy day. I'll call you later.

On another note, I have spent some time fixing and adding new and cool things to my blog. First, I took Katies cue and added a counter to my blog so I can see who is checking my blog and how many times they check it. I can also see where they are from, cuz many of you don't leave comments so I don't really know to what ends of the earth people are coming from to read my blog.

Second, I added the list of other blogs I read. BJ has decided to join the blogging world so his site is there along with Katie and Ryan's and other friends.

Third I added some of the sites that I HAVE to go to just about every time I am on the computer. Yes, I do get easily distracted so my blog is a way to get all you distracted too. Just thought I should share the fun. Hmmm, I think that is it. Have a good weekend everyone and I will probably post next Sunday night.

PS did you realize I posted every day this week. I think that is a first for me. WOW!!!

Today is Monday!!

First of all, I realized today that some of the words on my sight are becoming links to other websites! What's up with that and how do I stop that from happening?

Second, I forgot to mention that I am real sure I am the cause of BJ's eczema. He just got better then by the end of the weekend he was as red as an apple. I feel horrible. I mean I'm trying to make sure all of the products I use are fragrance and die free. Grrr, just a bit frustrating, I can't wait until he goes to the dermatologist and I can really truly know what I need to change to make him better.

Third, I had a awesomely productive night tonight, I finished my Autism Case study for the class that ended last week, and I made all the note cards for my Nero Anatomy class. Now I just need to study them (so I can pass the test that is Wednesday).

And last, my poor flowers were dead this morning when I got to school. Good thing BJ dried 8 of them when he was here on Friday. Any ideas of what I should do with the dried flowers? Let me know.

The first of many (I Hope)

Okay so both my cousin and some of my friends have started this blog thing so I thought what the heck. Since I'm stuck up away from everyone this seems like a good way to keep everyone else up to speed with what is happening in my life. Hopefully I can stick with this and not forget about it.

Well first of all I am writing this the night before my last day of classes for the term and the last presentation that I will give. Then its back home for a busy and short month before I get to come back up here.

Well to day I had my first real life fair experience. Yes, growing up in the Chicago suburbs fairs aren't that common. We have them but we usually don't go to them. This fair was ridiculously expensive. It cost us $9.00 per person plus another $6.00 to park the car. For that much money we were expecting something good! But nooooo just rides, food, and animals. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with the fair. I had fun looking at the animals but maybe next year I will go to a larger fair with cooler stuff at it and I'll be impressed.
