Auto show

For the 6th year in a row we went to the Chicago Auto Show for our Valentine's Day celebration.  Most people don't enjoy the auto show,it it doesn't bug me.  After awhile most of the cars start to look the same but I don't care. My husband seems to enjoy it and he knows more about cars than I do.  The first year we went I was pregnate with my little monkey and this year was the first year since we didn't drag a stoller around with us.  I was not sure how Elijah would do with all the walking but he did it without needing to many breaks.  Here are some pictures of our day.

At the end of the day Elijah was rewarded with ice cream and was aloud to throw some money into the fountain to make a wish.  When he was done I asked him what his wish was and it was to see Grandma, I kid you not within minutes I get a text from Grandma wondering if we were still there.  Yup his wish came true.  As we wre tucking him in that night, he told me his favorite part of the day was the whole thing.  Can't beat that can you!

If I had to pick it for him though it would have been the hand stamp he got, ice cream, making silly movies, or sitting in all the driver seats.

How did the first day go?

How did the first day back at school go? You know after 2 weeks and 2.5 days off school? Oh about just like this...

Yeah between all the teachers upset that they couldn't take mid-day naps and the kids who still went sure how they got to school today it was quiet and delightful. I was proud of myself for not falling asleep between meetings or while at my desk. I even remembered that it was Wednesday and I went to my second job. However, with that being said, I am sleepy and I think my bed is calling my name.

Good by Christmas

 It's that time of year again to put Christmas back in boxes and shove it back into the attic until November. With all of the sparkle and glitter goes all of the childhood excitement and joy. Some where in this process we opened a box that holds lack of sleep, headaches and crabbiness. Let me tell you I didn't invite that in but it is here. We have also come to the reilization that over the last few weeks behind the tree all of Elijah's toys were reproducing and now we don't have room for it all. This also is the best environment for crabs to join our festively day as we can't come to any sort of agreement as what should go to make way for the new crap I mean stuff.  Ahhh welcome 2014 I can't wait to see what you bring to us. Preferably less crabbiness, less crap, more fun, more family, and more friends.  Oh and more time!

I know I know...

I haven't blogged in awhile. I'm having a hard time being motivated to say the least. With the new job change I'm having a difficult time getting focused in all the other area's of life and well that means things aren't getting done. ie...blogging and recently cleaning. So instead here are cute pictures from Easter.

How hard is it!? (by the Hubby)

So I am not going to say that I am a master chef or anything, but I will say that I know my way around a kitchen.  I can make a mean omelet, I love my grill and I can be pretty inventive with my combinations.  However for some reason I forgot how to make a hard boiled egg!   I mean really, "How hard is it!?"?
Step 1: Put eggs and cold water in a pot
Step 2: Boil said water
Step 3: Remove from heat, cover and let sit for 12-15 minutes
Step 4: Remove eggs and put immediately in ice water

I forgot to boil the water long enough as well as forgot to cover them.  So after dying the eggs, which was a lot of fun with Elijah, back in the fridge they went.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~2 Days Later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kelly and Elijah decided that it would be a great idea to have a snack and what better snack to have than a hard, or so I thought, boiled egg.  It turns out that when you do not follow the steps exactly, you end up with "semi soft" centered eggs instead of "hard" centered eggs.  Oh well we all have mistakes right?  I just hope my mistake does not kill my entire family!!!
HAPPY EASTER!!!
Happy Valentine's Day
You know I don't really like this holiday.  I never really have.  And I think I am lucky that I am in a relationship now a days that everyday we tell we each other "I love you."  BJ is one of those guys that actually loves being romantic.  He makes me dinner almost 3 days a week, he does the dishes.  But that's just because wants nto, not because he feels that's the only way to show me he loves me.  There are however, other men in my life.  One of those men brought me 4 giant muffins 2 blueberry and 2 red velvet, another one brought me chocolate covered strawberries.  Because I love my husband, I brought them home to share with me.  I ddin't have to. He doesn't spend week in and week out with these guys being spit on, sneezed on, yelled at, and all the other stuff, but I do.
On another note when I got home tonight from work there was a love bug infestation waiting for me.  All I could do was hug the bug and kiss the bug and then put the bug to bed.
So here is a good night Hug,
A good night kiss
Love you all.
Auto Show
Fourth Annual Valentines Day Auto Show Trip.
Obviously, the last four years BJ and I have gone to the Chicago Auto Show the weekend before Valentines day.  Two of the four years we went with friends two it was just us.
(That was the neighbor not BJ FYI)This year did not go so smoothly.  My plan was to leave the house by 9:00 and get parked and ready to get into the show by 10.  Well at 9 we realized we needed cash and gas, we didn't even get going until about 9:30.  Once we got to the city and parked we headed into the convention center and as BJ was pumping up the tires on the stroller popped the front wheel.
Yes, popped.  As in the rubber tube inside the wheel he put a hole in it.  BJ and Jon had to figure out how to rig the wheel so we could still have a stroller for the day.  By the time it was fixed and we were ready to go it was almost 11:00.
We went in and saw about 2 cars before we all started to get hungry.  We spent the next hour looking at cars and stuff then had to feed the pregnant lady and Elijah.  After lunch we took Elijah's picture in the Mini, like we have the last 3 years.
What I kept finding funny was every car, Elijah would tell me it was his favorite.  After about 4 cars it stopped being cute.
We were able to meet a famous Panda bear.  It was the same one that was in the commercial with Matthew Broderick.  Then Elijah and I had our picture taken and put on the big screen.  We were famous, for 3 seconds at least.
Oh and check out this trunk under the bed of the truck.
Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2012. We made it through last year even though the end of the world was supposed to happen about 3 times.  Well as we all know 12-12-12 is supposed to be the end of the world, so lets hope we see 2013.  If we don't I'll see you on the other side.  But if we do make it to 2013 I do have a couple of resolutions that need to be met before then.  I think our 10 from last year was a bit much.  This year we will:
Save Money
Have fun
Be secure
Be small
Halloween
For Halloween, Elijah will be Mr. Potato head.  That is if I ever get around to making his costume.  After getting Elijah feed, and in bed and the house sort of straightened up I don't really want to do work on his costume.
On another hand, BJ last night had a weird force take over his hand last night and it woke me up.  As I lay in bed watching his hand become a spider it ran up and down the bed and finally on me.  It was the weirdest thing in the world.  I was laughing so hard I HAD to wake up BJ.  He had no idea what he was dreaming about but I still think it was funny.
The 4th of July
We had a bit of a busy weekend. I will be posting out of order, mostly because the 3rd of July's events deserve their own evening's brain work.  Back to the 4th though.
We started the day with a bit of fishing.
Rescue and I sat in the shade.
We then headed to my dad's and BJ and I took a nap.  We then headed to the Warrenville Fireworks where we met up with more people there than I would have ever guessed.  We met up with a bunch of the old high school group.
We met up with the Neighbors.Elijah and Cole hung out for a bit.
We played with glow sticks and camera settings
And of course there were FIREWORKS!
Memorial Day: by Elijah
Today was a special day.  It felt like a weekend day but Mommy said it was Memorial Day.  I celebrated with my Dino's.
Then my new friend Tessa came over and I shared my bucket of water with her.  Whoa, careful with the cow dino thing.
Which one is your ride Tessa?  Oh that one?  Nice wheels!
 So Tessa, what do you do most of your day?  I like dinos and things.
 Well thanks for the kiss Cow dino, thing.
 Even though I like dinos I don't like them that much.  I mean Yuck, have you ever kissed a cow?
 Then my friend Cole came home from her trip.  I was so happy to see her!
 HEY MOM.  COLE'S HOME.  WE'RE GOING TO PLAY IN THE PUDDLE.
 Look I can walk like a bear.  ROAH!
 Cole check out my bucket of water.
 We're being good mommy.  We promise.  Right? That is what we were supposed to say?
 Missed you Cole.
 Glad your home.
 Wanna go on a ride on my momocycle?  Vroom Vroom!
 Man I'm beat.  This has been a heck of a day.  I need some ice cream that will keep me up until 9:00.  I like this Memorial Day thing.
 Even Scuscu liked the day.  She was pretending to be a polar bear with her block of ice at the end of the day.
 P.S. Mommy says the next few weeks she will be super busy (it's garage sale time which means not a lot of time home.) She is sorry for the limited posts in the next few days.
